The Velvet Room started as an idea for a drive-in movie theater but eventually morphed into the idea of creating a single screen microcinema and bar. We will be playing repertory films including classics, cult favorites, local productions, foreign films, overlooked gems, silent films, shorts, and more!
We looked at many different parts of town in Wilmington and finally found a home in the Castle Street Arts District. Castle street was the previous home of the Palace Theater back in the 1940s right down the street from our current location.
